What is micro-needling?

Micro-needling is a skin treatment that passes very fine needles over the skin to create tiny, controlled punctures. Your skin responds by producing more collagen, the protein it rebuilds on. At our Thornhill clinic we use it for wrinkled skin, sagging, and the depressed scars left by healed acne.

Aftercare
Your skin will look pink for a while. For the first couple of days, skip makeup, alcohol-based products, strong sun and exercise. Drink plenty of water and use a mild cleanser.

We apply a numbing cream before we begin, so most clients feel only a little tingling. The whole visit takes about 90 minutes, including cleansing, numbing, treatment and serum, in a relaxed setting. Our clients tell us the time flies.

It is normal for your skin to look pink and feel irritated afterwards. Give it a few days of gentle care at home. There is no formal downtime and most clients return to normal life right away, but we suggest not booking just before a big interview or a beach day.

Micro-needling is not a one-session treatment. Sessions are usually a month apart. Some clients need as few as three, and in extreme cases it can take up to a dozen. We will give you an honest estimate at your consultation.
