What Is Pigmentation Treatment?
Pigmentation refers to patches of skin that become darker than the surrounding areas of skin. It occurs when the skin produces excess melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color. It can affect people of all skin types.
Pigmentation is very common on skin of color, as darker skin tones already have a higher melanin content. Burns, bruises, acne, rashes, or other trauma to the skin can cause it to produce more melanin and lead to dark spots.

How It Works?
Laser Pigmentation Removal works to safely and effectively reduce the appearance of freckles, pigmentation, and post-trauma pigmentation including acne scars and age spots. The laser targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light, without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser heats up and shatters the pigment. The pigment is then drawn to the surface without harming the surrounding tissue.
Once drawn to the surface, the pigmented lesions will fade or dry and flake off the treated area, leaving the skin with an even tone and complexion.

Who Should Try This?
There isn’t a one size fits all approach to skin resurfacing. Ablative lasers may work better for people with fair skin. For some people, non-ablative versions may cause the skin to darken instead of lighten.
These are the two types of lasers: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative lasers are the most intense, and they involve removing layers of your skin. Non-ablative procedures, on the other hand, target the dermis to promote collagen growth and tightening effects. Ablative lasers are stronger, but they may cause more side effects. Both destroy elements in your skin to ensure that new skin cells grow back tighter and more toned.

How Do Hyperpigmentation Treatments Work?
Hyperpigmentation treatments work by targeting and minimizing the appearance of pigmentation against the client’s skin tone (lasers) or by removing the top layers of the dermis to reveal the unpigmented skin hiding underneath (Carbon Laser Peel).
Our hyperpigmentation menu offers a variety of procedures, including:
- 755nm and 1064nm picosecond laser
- Carbon Laser Peel
- Chemical peel
Tips For Protection And Prevention
- Protect yourself from the sun to prevent pigmentation marks from appearing or getting worse. Avoid the sun when its rays are the most dangerous, that is, between 10 am and 3 pm.
- Choose your photoprotection carefully. Its sun protection factor (SPF) should be at least 30 (or 50 if you have fair skin).
- Take oral dietary supplements (capsules or tablets) before and during exposure to better prepare your skin for the sun.
- Never expose babies to the sun. Protect children using clothing and a special sun cream. 80% of skin problems result from the subject being exposed to the sun prior to age 18
